Your digital learning tools

Curious about how your online studies will look like? In this page, you’ll learn about the different tools you’ll use during your studies – the digital campus (myCampus) and the IU Learn app, where you’ll find all of your study materials, quizzes, and plenty of other features.

This as an overview of how your online studies will look like on a day-to-day basis, so you’ll know exactly what to expect, and get a better understanding of why our online degrees are so unique.

MyCampus

Regardless of where you are, or how you like to study, our myCampus digital learning platform is equipped with all the tools you need to ace your studies. At IU International University of Applied Sciences, we take special care to make our programmes accessible and flexible, and myCampus was designed with those two factors in mind.

At the click of a button, you’ll get access to a wide range of tools, apps, resources and databases - 24/7, 365 days a year, 100% online.

Use the materials wherever and whenever you want, at your own pace and as much as you need. myCampus is the platform where you’ll book your courses, get news about career and study coaching events, get in touch with your tutors and manage your entire study schedule.

And in addition to all of the videos, e-books, and virtual libraries the platform offers, you’ll also receive free access to the full MS Office suite for the entire duration of your studies – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams – so you’ll have everything you need to ace your studies with ease.

The IU Learn App

IU’s Learn App, available for both Android and iOS, is your do-it-all online learning tool. Get 24/7 access to all of your study materials – videos, lecture notes, quizzes, and podcasts.

Here’s a detailed breakdown of what’s waiting for you in the app:

  • Think of the app is your personal digital library. It contains all the courses you’re taking, which will be automatically updated in the app once you’ve enrolled to them via myCampus.

Each course is its own digital book - but it’s so much more than just a plain file full of text. The courses are designed so that your entire learning journey is done via the app; everything you need for your studies in each course is in the course book on the app.

The texts are your primary source of studying, and they are easy to navigate and work with. You have the option to take digital notes, and highlight sections in the book according to their priority and importance, in different colours.

  • The course materials are divided into small units, ideally designed for an easy to digest learning process, with plenty of exercises along the way. When you start each course book, you get a detailed breakdown of the study goals for the entire course, and then for each section.

As you start, you have an overview of all the videos in the course, which are linked both directly in the material, and in a standalone list that you can access whenever you want.

You’ll also see a list of all the quizzes you have, and the table of contents lets you prepare your schedule in advance – you can plan how much time you want to dedicate for each section.

  • The app features flashcards, where you can test your knowledge or help yourself memorise material and facts. No need to manually create them for yourself anymore – the app takes care of it for you!

By practicing the flashcards on a regular basis, you’ll make sure that you’re on track with your studies, and that you’re not missing on any important information as you learn new topics.

It’s also a great way to study with other students, who you can chat with through your Microsoft Teams account. Just use the flashcards to quiz each other, and see which topics you need to spend more time on.

  • The app features over 600 course scripts, and more than 14,000 interactive quizzes, so there are plenty of materials and tools for you to polish your knowledge and develop your skills.

The quizzes are a quick and straightforward way for you to test your knowledge. Make sure you’re following the course material properly by answering them successfully – you have as many attempts as you need. With the quizzes you’ll get immediate feedback for your answers, so you’ll know you’re on the right track!

Having a difficult time with one of the questions? You can either use the additional course reading materials to expand your knowledge, or reach out to your course tutor for help.

  • The videos in each coursebook are meant to enhance and support your learning experience, offering extra information and clarification of key terms in a short and easy to follow way.

A key feature of the videos is the visual presentation of some topics, so you have real-world examples of theoretical concepts. This is especially helpful for the more abstract topics, in or in courses that deal heavily with mathematical and scientific formulas.

Though they’re not the main instrument of your studies, the videos are an extra tool in your kit that gives you more options to tackle the course materials. You can choose whether you want to watch all the videos in each course, some of them, or none at all – it’s up to you!

Your course materials are easily available for you anytime, anywhere through the app. No need to carry around heavy books or worry about forgetting to return them to the library on time. Use technology to your advantage, that’s the whole point of studying online!

Download your course books so their available offline, and you can study on your morning trip to work or on your lunch break. Many of our students recommend using the flashcards to practice key topics throughout the day, just for a few minutes at a time.

To make things even more simple, the materials and the app synchronise easily across all of your devices, so you don’t have to carry your laptop or tablet around everywhere – just use your phone if that’s more convenient. Use the app to ace your studies with ease: we designed it for you!
