Careers

Career outlook

With your online Bachelor’s degree in Management from IU International University of Applied Sciences, you’ll be a great candidate for various managerial positions, across different industries and departments. Be it in finance, marketing or logistics, your knowledge and credentials will help you successfully navigate today’s demanding professional challenges.

Some of the roles you could fulfil include:

Operations Manager

Operations managers are responsible for planning and overseeing various business processes across different departments. Their main focus is on optimising the ways in which a company operates on a day-to-day basis, but they can also be charged with planning and implementing new initiatives for growth, be it in sales, marketing or logistics. Their work helps teams develop, improve and reach new business goals, so they’re a valuable asset to any company, big or small.

International Growth Manager

As an International Growth Manager, you’ll be expected to identify potential growth options for the company you’ll work for. This requires that you’ll have a strong understanding of the market the business operates in, the competition and the overall economic conditions that offer promising growth opportunities: be they technological, demographic or financial. It’s a role that offers great opportunities before as an employee and as an independent consultant to firms.

Intercultural Manager

Companies, especially large international ones, require the services of managers who understand how to manage diverse teams and operate across different cultures, languages and social norms. The work of intercultural managers varies from business to business, but they’re often involved in nearly every aspect of a company’s operations, from customer care to sales and product development.

Student reviews
  • Online learning was ideal for me, as I really wanted to stay at my job in a travel agency. The programme at IU International University of Applied Sciences gave me the flexibility I needed. During the degree, this became even more important, because I was promoted to office manager at my travel agency and I had to accommodate a responsible job – often with a 6-day week – plus studies, partner, family and friends.

    Edeltraut Schwartz

    Graduate, Romania

  • In my view, the flexibility makes a compelling case for learning online at IU. The wide range of elective modules to choose from also won me over. It means you can specialise in what you really want to do.

    Philipp Kleingrothe

    Graduate, Germany

  • In my search to find the right university, IU Berlin met all the criteria that were important to me. I also liked the fact that Berlin is a very international city and is currently evolving into being the hub of Europe's start-up scene. As part of my studies at IU, I participated in a blockchain seminar on campus, during which I was able to make numerous business contacts. This network and a personal recommendation led me to my current employer, the financial services provider Leondrino Exchange. In collaboration with the company, I wrote my thesis and was subsequently rewarded with a full-time position. My career proves it: networking is the key to success!
