The B.Sc. Computer Science includes core modules, a compulsory internship, and a range of electives. You can choose a non-specialisation track to focus on a broad set of computer science topics, or select the specific electives required for a specialisation in Applied Artificial Intelligence or a specialisation in Data Science. Choosing a specialisation allows you to gain deeper expertise and hands-on experience in your chosen area while still completing the core modules and internship.

IU does not currently offer a dedicated on-campus Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security. If you want to start your studies at undergraduate level, the closest route is our BSc Computer Science.
This Bachelor’s programme gives you a broad foundation in computer science, including programming, software engineering, databases, operating systems, algorithms, IT service management and cryptography. If you are interested in cyber security, you can choose the non-specialisation track, which includes the elective module Introduction to Data Protection and Cyber Security.
In this route, you can build core computer science knowledge first, then explore cyber-related topics such as data protection, IT security, network and communication security, authentication, firewalls, malware protection, social engineering risks and secure software development.
Once you have completed a relevant Bachelor’s degree, you may be able to continue into a specialised Master’s programme such as IU’s MSc Cyber Security, subject to meeting the admission requirements.

Once your application and documents are submitted, you will be invited to a 15-minute online interview conducted by our admission team. During the interview we will discuss your academic background, reasons for pursuing further study, and career objectives.
The interview is a required component of the eligibility check for international applicants. If you miss your interview, the invitation will be sent again to allow you to schedule a new appointment. You may reschedule the interview up to three times. After the third invitation, and if there is no attendance, IU will assume you are no longer interested.
If the interview is not passed, admission screeners will review the reasons and provide recommendations for next steps. For example, if the reason is related to English skills, the team may suggest registering for an English course or improving conversation skills. Applicants may contact IU when they wish to retake the interview, at which point IU will reactivate their application.

Yes, you can. IU is one of the German universities of applied sciences that allows international students to study a B.Sc. in Computer Science entirely in English. To apply, you’ll need to provide proof of English language proficiency. German language skills are not required, but you can still learn German for free through Speexx or other online language courses during your studies.
B.Tech is a degree format commonly found in universities in countries like India. However, in Germany, the equivalent for international students would be a B.Sc. (as we do at IU) or a B.Eng. in some German universities of applied sciences.
