Prof. Dr. Ing. Armands Strazds
Professor of B.Sc. Computer Science & M.Sc. Computer Science

Profile
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Armands Strazds is Professor of Computer Science at IU International University of Applied Sciences. He holds a doctorate in computer science and brings an interdisciplinary background spanning computer science, technology and the arts. His work combines the theoretical foundations of information and computation with the development and application of emerging digital technologies. A central strand of his current research is Suranadira, a novel quantitative symbolic system for information encoding and representation, alongside fundamental questions of individuation, identity and representation in formal systems. At IU he teaches on the Bachelor and Master programmes in Computer Science and supervises theses in artificial intelligence, software engineering, cybersecurity, computer vision, requirements engineering and emerging digital technologies.
