Want to study in the evenings after work, or while traveling? With our online studies model, you can access courses and learning materials at any time, from anywhere. The on campus learning model offers a unique combination of learning online and in person at one of our campuses in Germany. For online studies students:

Interactive learning sprints

Some courses offer what we call “learning sprints”: intensive, interactive units that prepare you for your exam in just four weeks. In these learning sprints, students support each other and work together to solve tasks based on the course materials. In some courses, sprints also give you the opportunity to create a detailed documentation of all of the material you’ve learned, by using intensive live tutorials and “Tasks of the Day”.

Revision manual

Several courses also include revision manuals: catalogues of questions that help you prepare for your exam – like a workbook version of a learning sprint. The revision manual includes learning tasks of varying degrees of difficulty, all of which are based on knowledge application principles, to best prepare you for exams. The tutor for the relevant course will be available to answer any questions you have regarding the manuals via on our digital communication platform.

Online forum & Consultation sessions

In many of our courses, we offer online forums where you can exchange ideas with other students throughout the course. It’s a great way get to know fellow students, professors and tutors, get valuable feedback on your personal study progress, and receive support and advice whenever you need it.

In addition, you will be able to ask course-specific questions in a monthly Q&A session with tutors.

For on IU students learning on campus:

Group Study

Courses in the on campus model are offered as live video lectures and tutorials, either via video or in person at one of our campus locations in Germany. These lectures let you experience campus life and interact with your fellow students and professors in real time, even if you only attend them virtually. In this model, a greater emphasis is given to team work and collaboration, and you’ll be working with other students on class projects throughout your studies. It’s a great way to prepare for working with colleagues in your future career.

Digital Oral Exams

Enjoy full flexibility when doing your exams – some of the courses in this learning model give you the option to take your exam orally, on campus. For the rest of your exams, you’ll have the option to take them whenever you like, from anywhere – fully online.

Interactive Seminars

Discuss the learning materials with your professors, tutors and fellow students – in real time! Ask questions, share ideas and work together on case studies and class projects. You’ll get all the support you need when taking your first steps as a student, or when you’re working on your final thesis. Do it all on location at one of our campuses in Germany.

Time models

Full-time studies are not always easy to manage, depending on your personal or professional situation. That’s why we’ve developed part-time programmes that offer flexible and extended study periods for all of our study programmes. This way, you can study alongside your job or in your free time, whether you’re in Germany or abroad. The various models are all identical in content. We will adapt your tuition fees to suit your time model. If you choose one of the part-time options, your weekly study workload will be reduced.

Full-time

Perfect for students who want to hit the ground running and shorten the period of study by increasing their studying pace.
